The playschool business as it is operating today in India is on the lines of the western model where play school branches are opened by playschool chains as their branches. These branches are owned by private partners who become partners with the playschool group after paying a one-time franchise fee.

The same model is being replicated in India as well. In the last twenty years or so, several playschools have sprung up in the country each claiming to be the best.  If you search on the internet you would find many lists of “top 5 preschool franchise in India”, however, these lists could be misleading. As an entrepreneur, your effort must be to find the playschool franchise in India which can give you maximum profit and support to run your playschool.

Many entrepreneurs are gullible to advertising and media hype which play school franchise in India often creates. Due to these smartly designed campaigns, many good playschools which are an actual deserving candidate for top 5 preschool franchise in India are relegated to lower spots.

Our effort, therefore, must be to zero in on the playschool chain that is the best fit for us, that is which is within our budget and can ensure us a steady income inflow with its smart strategies.

Here are five pointers that you can use to figure out the best fitting playschool chain to choose your franchise partner.

First and foremost is your budget. Think of a budget that you can spare in establishing the playschool. Normally play school franchise comes for anything from five lakhs to twenty-five lakhs. Go for the one that most suits you. Naturally, those who charge higher fees have higher value but ultimately you have to decide the franchise sign up fees you are willing to pay. Remember you would need money to set up your school as well – the furniture, educational toys, staff salaries, etc. must be taken into account before committing the franchise fees.

The second thing to factor in is the reputation of the playschool group. The more reputed the better. Do not trust the ones which sprung up six months back. In playschool, business reputation is built over time. Those chains that are operating for more than a decade are more likely to get more admissions to your branch.

Thirdly do some research and find out how many branches of that particular franchisee are running all over the country and in your town. More the merrier. As the groups that have more branches are likely to be doing well.

The third criterion should be the support they provide to their partners. Some groups just give you templates to fill while others provide everything from furniture to books to interior designers and so on. Many franchise groups have admission kits which have a brochure, admission form, etc. which comes handy at the time of admissions or during PR exercises of your school. They of course charge for these things but they ensure that you don’t have to run from pillar to post to procure these things.

The fourth is to look for the curriculum they are going to give you. Montessori curriculum is supposed to be the best so go for it.

The fifth tip is to see if they provide teacher training and do they help you in teacher selection. If they do they are serious about your schools future.
