What is the FearPosted by Peyush Bhatia on August 2nd, 2019 What is the Fear Fear is the product of our mind. It is an emotion made up of low energy that we experience by perceiving a forthcoming threat. It is paralyzing and stops us from achieving our dreams. Our decision-making gets clouded, views get distorted and self-confidence takes a dip. Our heart starts pounding faster and we feel cold as we await the unknown. How Can We Overcome FearThe only way to overcome fear is to transmute the negative low energy to a higher and positive energy form. When we experience fear, cortisol and adrenaline get released in our body which leads to negative reactions. The moment we convert these hormones to happy hormones like endorphins and oxytocin, fear subsides and positivity takes over. But how can you do this? Let’s learn: • Deep BreathingFear triggers short breaths, decreasing the oxygen content in our body. Lack of oxygen shuts down our cognitive mind and reduces our ability to think clearly or make decisions. Deep Breathing is, therefore, the first thing that one should practice in such situations. With this, a higher quantity of oxygen is supplied to the cognitive brain and it gets reactivated. The moment you gain control of your mind, you are in a position to reason out with fear and find possible solutions to overcome the probable outcomes. • Experience it FullyWhen you suppress fear, it gets scarier. Instead, face it completely. Think about the worst outcome that it can lead to. Once you know this, you will be able to transmute fear to higher energy forms. Watch a comedy, spend time with your family and pets or start exercising. These activities will release happy hormones in your body, fix the chemical imbalances triggered by fear and initiate the required changes. • Be in GratitudeThe best way to overcome fear is to be in gratitude. Gratitude can bring you back to the present and away from the future, where the fear lies. The moment you start feeling thankful about what you have in life today, fear takes a downside and begins to fade. •Practice FaithFaith is the best anecdote to fear. Since you have no control of the future and what will happen there, the next alternative is to be in the faith. Keep the faith that you will be able to face and handle all outcomes in the future, come what may. And you will certainly do so.
