In a Skyscanner article, between the 20 most beautiful Italian coastal cities, there is Campania Region with two towns on the Amalfi Coast Shore Excursions.

Skyscanner experts have identified as many as 20 seaside cities between the Italian islands, the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic coasts, declaring them among the most beautiful in Italy for the spectacular promenades, their open sea squares, and the maritime traditions.

Genoa, the splendid city that overlooks the Gulf of the Ligurian Sea has won the first place in this ranking, characterized by its ever-pulsating historic center, the aquarium, the Lanterna and the Sea Museum (the renovated Galata.)

Subsequently the localities of Vernazza, in the Cinque Terre, were positioned in order, with its sceneries characterized by vineyards and terraced olive groves, then Tuscany with its wild beaches and the fashionable sailor’s villages in the Monte Argentario of Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano. In the Monti Aurunci, there is Sperlonga which is positioned in 4th place with its village with a timeless atmosphere, characterized by very white houses and award-winning beaches bathed by crystal clear waters.

The city of Cagliari in the 5th place is appreciated for the blue sea and the limestone rocks, but also for the noisy markets and the tall medieval towers.

So the Campania region finds the sixth, seventh and eighth place with the city of Naples and the Amalfi Coast with Positano and Amalfi. Naples is a city that can be appreciated at any time of the year. In its historic center as well as being able to admire beautiful museums and churches you can find traditional sweets and the best pizzerias in the world and obviously a promenade with splendid beaches.

Not far from Naples, only 50 km away is the Amalfi Coast which has Positano on the seventh place. Its batter-colored houses look like a cascade of colors in shades of lapis lazuli. In Campania Region, in ninth place, Palinuro also stands out for its very white beaches, crystal clear sea and mysterious caves located along the coast. A must for tourists who reach this location is the walk through the streets of the center and the visit of the picturesque Baia del Buon Dormire.

In Basilicata, there is Maratea which follows in tenth place as the only town in the region that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is the city dominated by the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer and is one of the most popular destinations for seaside tourism. The other beautiful Italian cities that follow from the eleventh to the twentieth position are Tropea in Calabria; Palermo Sicilian capital; Syracuse connected by two bridges, which is in fact an island connected to the mainland; Otranto in Salento with its narrow streets and its white built-up area overlooking the blue; Bari with its spectacular promenade; Vieste with the National Park, the unmistakable Faro and the Pizzomunno monolith; Termoli with its imposing Swabian Castle which symbolizes the old city with the Norman tower in limestone; Vasto and its famous Punta Aderci Nature Reserve.

The ranking ends with Venice crossed by its main canal, the main artery for city connections, the Rialto bridge, the squares opened on the sea Trieste and San Marco, castles, narrow and fascinating canals, beaches and regattas with sailboats dragged by sea breezes.
