Black Authors and Power of their Expressiveness

Looking deep into different ways of writing, you will find that there is some difference between writings of an author and a writer. Yet often we use both terms interchangeably as per writing.

The writers use their writing skills and command over language in expressiveness of their writings. They have an astounding knack of playing with words in their expressions

Usually, an author is a writer of novel or short stories based on some self developed idea or plot.  An author uses imagination, power to create sequence of events or situations to depict original ideas originated or conceived by him/her.

Same way, black authors, after seeing the plight of slaves,originated ideas to pen down about sufferings of blacks in different ways.

Creativeness of black authors

The books by black authors clearly address the concerns of huge number of blacks who were made to migrate to America and work as slaves.

The expository writing of black authors with their ability intelligently explained the matter consists of factual contents and their imagination.

The black authors books reveal how black authors groomed their self originated ideas by creating plots or situations to raise voice for the cause and freedom of blacks from slavery.  

The black authors, especially in 19th century have fearlessly explored racism, exploitation, abuse and violence against their race.

In addition, books by black authors also have innumerable books written by them on nature, beauty, love, music and emotional relationships.

The black authors used their skills in fearlessly raising their voice against oppression, slavery and racism.

They purposely wrote novels, short stories and essays focusing on liberation of blacks, white racism to encourage African Americansto fight for their rights  

Many books by black authors strongly endorsed for an organized action by masses for bringing an end to segregation.

Great black authors

The firstrenownedblack author was Phillis Wheatley who started writing poems at a very young age of about seven years.

Black authors excelled in all types of writings like poems, short stories, essays, novels and autobiographies.

Books by black authors include an array of fiction, historical texts and memoirs as well.

•    Maya Angelou–was an acclaimed American poet, author and activist whose words depicted black beauty as strength of women.

She is remembered for “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” published in 1969.

Her collection of emotional poems “Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water ‘fore I Die” nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1972.

•    Octavia Butler-excelled in science fiction. Her novel “Kindred”was widely acclaimed.

Her “Outsider’s legacy”, “Mind of mind”, “Fledging” and “Survivor” inspired future generation of women.

•    W.E.B. Du Bois- known forhis thesis “The Suppression of the African Slave-Trade to the United States of America, 1638-1870” is still considered exemplary for many.

He authored“The Souls of Black Folk” based on lynching of Sam hose in 1869. He also wrote editorials for "The Crisis" besides many other books.

•    Alex Haley –is deeply admired for “The Autobiography of Malcolm X ”  

His novel “Roots: The Saga of an American Family ”,  published in 1976 won him the Pulitzer Prize that eventually become a television miniseries that  created new television viewing records

•    Zora Neale Hurston -is famous for her novels, short stories, plays and essays.

She wrote her fabulous work “Their Eyes Were Watching God” in 1937.

•    Toni Morrison -A Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winning novelist.

Her “The Bluest Eye” in 1970 and “Sula” in 1973 along with “The Song of Solomon”   were rated high and were literary success.

The publication of greatest masterpiece “Beloved” in 1987 won her prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

•    BarakObama, former President of USA, wrote a sensational book “The Audacity of Hope” in 2006 is regarded as a great creation for vision to bridge political parties for smooth functioning of the Government.
