JEE Main 2020 will be organised by the newly formulated body -National Testing Agency. As per the decision of HRD Ministry, the entrance test of JEE Main from the year 2019 onwards is being held twice in the months of January and April.However, the students can either opt to appear for one or both exams. The better of two will be considered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for evaluating the All India ranks. To qualify the test, candidates have to secure minimum qualifying cut-off marks to pursue B.E, B.Tech, B.Plan and B.Arch engineering programmes in various renowned institutions like IIT’s, CFTI’s, NIT’s etc.

Important Dates To Remember:

JEE Main 2020 Application Form January Session: The releasing of application form of JEE Main 2020 for January session tentatively in the first week of September 2019 and last date to register will be tentatively in the last week of September 2019. Application form can be corrected till second to third week of October 2019 and application fee payable date is till first week of October 2019.

The allotted shift and exam date will be announced in the first week of October 2019 and January session exam will be held in second week of January 2020.

April Session: The releasing of application form of JEE Main 2020 for April session tentatively in the second week of February 2020 and last date to register will be tentatively in the first week of March 2020. Application form can be corrected till second week of March 2020 and application fee payable date is till second week of March 2020.

April session exam will be held in second week of April 2020.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria:

Before registering for the exam candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria:

1. Qualifying Exams: The candidates appearing for class 12 board exams with Physics and Maths as their compulsory subjects are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2020. 2018-19 pass-outs are also eligible to appear for this exam.

2. Qualifying Marks: There is no minimum pass percentage for appearing in JEE Main exam. However, the candidates must pass their class 12 board or other equivalent examination.

3. Age Criteria: According to the new rules prescribed by NTA, there is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2020 January and April exams.

4. For admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs: The candidate must secure 75% Marks in their class 12 board exams or should be within the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage required for admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is 65%.

Total Attempts: The candidates can appear for JEE Main exam for three consecutive years.

How to fill the application form and what you need while filling the form:

Step 1: Before filling the application form, the candidates have to register themselves and have to provide theirState of Eligibility, Identification Type (Aadhaar Card/Student ID/Passport/Ration Card/Bank Account), Identification ID, Candidate’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Security Pin. The login details of JEE Main 2020 application form will be generated after the registration is completed.

The details candidate need before filling the application form: For fee payment - debit card/credit card/net banking details, Email ID and mobile number, Details about identity proof such as passport/Aadhaar card/voter ID/ration card and more, Scanned images of candidate’s photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities, 10th and 12th standard academic details.

Step 2: Filling of Application Form: After the registration process is completed, the candidates will have to fill the JEE Main application form 2020. It is to be noted that all of the details submitted has to be valid in nature. Incorrect or incomplete applications will not be accepted by the authorities. The following details have to be submitted by the candidates:

1. Examination Related Details - Candidates will have to select their choice of paper (Paper 1 or 2 or both). The preferred choice of language for the examination also has to be selected.

2. Personal Information - The candidates will have to provide personal details such as name, category, name of mother and father, person with disability or not and much more.

3. Academic Details - The candidates will have to give information about their performance in 10th and 12th standard qualifying examination.

4. Communication Information - Details about the candidate’s address has to be provided. The details do not have to match with the information in the Aadhaar card.

5. Guardian Details - Information about the candidates’ guardian/parent such as their occupation, qualification, annual income and more has to be provided.

6. Selection of Exam Centres - Four cities as per preference has to be selected by the candidates for the upcoming examination.

Step 3: Payment of JEE Main 2020 Exam Fees – online or offline payment.

  • Offline Payment: Download the e-challan and transfer the fee amount at any branch of ICICI Bank, Syndicate Bank, or Canara Bank.
  • Online Payment: Using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, SBI Buddy Wallet, and Cash Cards.
