In this day and age, everyone wants the best picture quality and sound quality for their home theatre system, and that is not wrong. Having the right home theatre system not only enhances the experience but also helps make the most out a movie or whatever you are watching. One of the most crucial parts of a home theatre system is the TV. Without the right visual setup, there is no point in having the best sound system either. To have the best experience, you need the whole setup. However, with so many options and kinds of TVs in the market today, it can be quite tough to choose the right one for yourself.

With the advent of technology, there have been several advancements in entertainment systems, especially TVs. Although OLED models are deemed as the best option in the market, for someone who is on a budget, it is not really a feasible option, which brings you to the only two options left, LEDs and LCDs. Both these terms come up again and again, but no one really understands how they are different. To make the best decision, you need first to understand how these are different, and each has its advantages and disadvantages, which is what this article will help you with.

Understanding LCD and LED

In spite of having different acronyms, both these variations are very similar in nature. A Fine Pitch LED Display is just a LED-backlit LCD TV. However, some things set them apart in the market, which is what will be discussed in this article.

An LED Building Façade essentially uses a liquid crystal display panel to control the emission of light and where it will be displayed on your screen. LCD panels are made up of a liquid crystal solution between two sheets of polarizing material. When any kind of electric current is passed through it, the crystals align in a formation that either lets light pass through or does not. Nevertheless, since both LCD and LED displays are based on LCD technology, it can be hard to figure out the difference.

Seeing the advancements in the industry, there are not many differences in both categories. Most differences are old, as older LCD displays used cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) to get backlit, while LED-backlit LCD displays use more efficient and smaller light-emitting diodes, from which it gets the acronym LED. However, nowadays, all LCD displays also use LED light to illuminate the screen.

What can LED displays be used for?

There are three basic forms that are used in LCD TVs to illuminate the panels. Namely, they are CCFL backlighting, LED edge lighting, and full-array LED backlighting. Each of these illumination technologies is different in their own aspects and has different benefits. Each of these has different uses, like for LED Billboard Display and other such things. You should ensure to do proper research to know the option that will suit you the best.
