4 Ways to Decorate a Room on a Budget

Sometimes decorating a room can be a challenge. Decor and furniture can get expensive. But knowing where to spend and save will help you create a room that is not only beautiful but you will also love. 

There are items in a room that you should definitely spend a little more one. For example a bed. That is something used every night so you want to make sure it's a quality item. However, smaller decor items don't have to break the bank. There are ways to have beautiful decor and still have money in your wallet. 

If you want to create a beautiful budget-friendly room consider using one of these ideas.

1. DIY

DIY is the easiest way to save money on decor. Not only are you saving money but you are also creating something one of a kind, personalized to your taste. Think about DIYing your curtains. One of the easiest ways to create beautiful curtains is by using drop cloths. Dropcloth curtains are so easy to make and there is no sewing involved, all you need is a drop cloth and some curtain clips.

2. Throw Pillow

Throw pillows are a fantastic way to add color to a room. They are easy to interchange throughout the year so if you want to switch it up for holidays you can easily do so. And of course, you can find many budget-friendly options for throw pillows. You can even create your own pillows using fabric napkins. All you have to do is sew the napkins together. Again napkin pillows are a creative way to save money on your decor.

3.  Go to your local thrift store

Thrift stores are practically a gold mine when it comes to finding inexpensive decor items. Of course, you aren't always going to be able to find what you are looking ar for but remember you can repurpose items to make them fit your style. Let's say you find a lam that has a brass base. If you don't like the color you can easily change it with a for the cost of a can of spray paint. 

4. Get creative with paint

Wallpaper is a beautiful way to add some visual interest to a room. However, wallpaper can be pretty expensive. You can achieve a wallpapered look with some beautiful paint and creativity. You can use blue painters tape to create stripes, a herringbone pattern or just random shapes. You can be as creative as you want. If you are really interested in creating a wallpaper look, consider picking up an inexpensive stencil. It's a great way to get the look for more than half the cost. 

Having beautiful decor in your home does not have to cost a ton of money. By using one or all of these 4 budget-friendly ways will help you create the beautiful home you want and deserve.
