5 workout ideas for people stuck in a desk job

The modern era is taking humans out of human beings as they are turning more robotic every day. The lack of a proper food habits and uneven sleeping pattern has made the situation worse. The employees need to stay fit and running in such circumstances, but there is no time for that. Some employees spend more than half a day sitting in their desk and doing minimal movement physically. This scenario is not a healthy sign in the long term. The habit of sitting in front of various computing devices for an extended period can harm the eyes and the rib cage. It can permanently damage the posture of a person. How to lose weight?

Here we are writing down the list of some simple exercise that you can follow while working in your office to stay fit and aid in the weight loss without rigorous workout:  

1. Always prefer the Stairs

Avoid the elevators as much as much as you can, climbing stairs can exhaust a lot of calories, and this small step will be evident in the short run. You can plug your earphones for music or talk to someone while walking up the stairs. This will deviate your mind towards other things and moving up and downstairs would not feel like a task. It also helps in the weight loss process.

2. Workout sitting

There are a lot of workouts which you can do without standing on your foot or breaking your workflow. Try the following exercise and see the changes in yourself:

  • Keep your foot straight, cross one ankle on top of the other. Push them above the floor.
  • Press the upper leg down and resist with the bottom leg. Keep repeating the drill until you feel tired.
  • Repeat the same drill with opposite legs top and bottom.

3. Make little movements

You will be surprised to know that, making little movements on regular intervals can exhaust an extra 325 calories per day if not more. It means that the person can lose up to 15-17kgs in a year without visiting a gym. These are some of the drills that you can do without feeling uncomfortable in the office space:

  • Tap your feet with speed
  • Talk while making different gestures
  • Eat Chewing Gum (Avoid when in a meeting)

4. Inhaling Workouts

Deep inhalation helps the person to relax and lowers the heart rate. This breathing routine is a perfect exercise to have in the office area. All you need to do is inhale deeply through your nose and release the breath through your mouth. Laughing is also a potential exercise that can help with your weight loss drill as it tightens the stomach muscle and relieves stress.

5. Walk Around the Office

Walking is one drill that is always underrated. It could change your system for good. Try to walk around your office space as frequent as possible. Avoid keeping a water bottle at your desk, you can take a little break from work to visit the nearest water cooler, you can make calls while walking. Walking while talking will enable you to walk a lot, resulting in calorie burn, and this is how to lose weight without even visiting the gym.
