Why Is A Split System Air Conditioner Better?

Posted by Airritemech on August 23rd, 2019

Air conditioners come in a variety of different types and sizes. Some of them are bigger and offer consistent cooling all over the home while others are smaller and can cool only a small space. Each air conditioner has its own strengths and weaknesses. For instance, ducted air conditioning systems are quite big and require a whole network of ducts to be installed before they can be used. Such air conditioners are excellent for large buildings or homes. However, for the smaller offices and homes, a split system air conditioner is the better choice. Here is why.

Easier to Install

Split system air conditioners are much easier to install than ducted air conditioning systems. They don’t require ducts throughout the building to distribute the cool air so you don’t have to remodel your home to get them installed. You just have to find a place for the two different components of the air conditioning system. The indoor unit which contains the evaporator coil would need to be installed inside the room while the outdoor unit containing the condenser would have to be fitted on an outside wall. Since both units are compact, they won’t take up a large amount of space. These two units can be easily connected using copper tubing.

Quiet Operation

Portable air conditioners make a lot of noise so can be a little disturbing. This isn’t the case when you have a split system air conditioner. These air conditioning systems operate noiselessly because their outdoor unit is located outside the room. The noise that an air conditioner usually makes is created by the fan and the condenser. Since both of these components are located inside the outdoor unit, it doesn’t make a sound when cooling the air inside the room.
