Studies have shown that mosquitoes transmit heartworm infection in dogs and cats. When a mosquito feeds on an infected animal they suck in the microfilaria or also called heartworm larvae. In her entire life, an adult female mosquito lays more than 1000 to 3000 eggs. With so many females and single female reaching numbers in thousand just imagine how many mosquitoes are reproduced weekly?
  7. Only the female mosquitoes suck your blood – Yes, only the females need blood for their diets. The males feed on fruits, juice, nectar and other things.
  8. Female need protein from our blood – Adult female mosquitoes suck our blood because they need two things for feeding their eggs. They get the protein from our blood and feed on nectar for sugar contain.
  9. Mosquitoes have very poor eyesight – Did you know that mosquitoes can’t see anything? They have very poor eyesight and detect their victims by heat sensors. People living in hotter climates are more infected by mosquitoes than people living in colder regions.
