United Airlines: How do I Book or Change my Seat?

Step 1

Visit the website of United Airlines on your browser. You need to enter your trip details and departure/arrival cities, located at the left-hand side of the screen. After entering the required details, click on the search button

Choose your preferred departure flight after the flight details are uploaded.

You need to choose your flight seats on the next page. If you are not a member of the mileage plus program, skip the account sign-in and directly go to the bottom of the page and choose the Continue to traveler information" button.

Step 4

Enter the required information for each traveler on the next page. Under each passenger, select whether that traveler prefers a window or aisle seat.

Step 5

Check that all the information that you have entered about the passengers is correct. Click on the "Continue to select seats" button.

Step 6

After the seat map is loaded, select any seat that is not grey. You have to pay an extra charge for selecting blue and orange seats but you will not be charged for selecting a white seat.

Step 7

You can also choose seats for any additional passengers. After selecting seats for all passengers traveling with you, click on the "Next Flight" button. Then you can proceed to book your return trip. After selecting seats of your choice, click the "Continue" button.

Step 8

Check all your flight details on the next page. Input your email address to receive your ticket confirmation.

Step 9

Then you have to choose the mode of payment for your flight booking. Complete the payment procedure and then click the "I agree - Continue to Purchase" button. You will be directed to the payment confirmation and reservation number page. You can print that page for records.
