Separate Rs 400 Crores Fund For irrigation Schemes In Three Naxal Affected

Governor Approved The Demand Of Planning Minister Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar As A Special Case.

The Governor has approved Rs 400 Crores fund as a special case for the irrigation projects in Naxal affected three districts, Chandrapur-Gadchiroli-Gondia for 2019–20 on the demand of the state Finance and Planning Minister Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar.

State Finance and Planning Minister Honourable Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar had demanded Rs 400 Crores fund through the Planning Department for irrigation projects in three Naxal-affected districts Chandrapur-Gadchiroli-Gondia. The Governor has approved this demand with special consideration. As a result of this, the pending irrigation projects will be accelerated in these districts. Chichdoh irrigation project work has finished due to the initiatives of Finance Minister Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar. This project is attributed to improving the living standards in tribal’s backward and Naxal-affected areas in Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts. Due to this Chichdoh project, 28 villages in Chandrapur district, 43 villages in Gadchiroli district, in total 71 villages and 11510 Hectare area will be well-irrigated.

Also, another significant irrigation project in this area Kotgal Barrage’s work is in progress. Palasgaon-Aamdi upstream irrigation project which has been a blessing for 10 villages in Ballarpur is also taking the momentum. Dighori canal irrigation area is also supported with the work initiatives of closed pipeline distribution system under Asolmendha project of Pombhurna Taluka. Work is initiated to irrigate Chichala and 6 other villages in Mul Taluka through a closed pipeline distribution system. Along with this, many other project renovation and repair works have completed including Naleshwar main canal work, Bhasboran small project, Pipri Dixit small project, Janala Small project, Maulzari small project, etc.

Asolmendha irrigation project will be proved with Gosikhurd lake water and hence, 1 Lakh 45 thousand Hectare area in Chandrapur district will get irrigated. Also, Gosikhurd right canal will benefit the farmers of Bramhapuri, Nagbheed, Sindewahi, Savali, Chimoor, Mul, Pombhurna Talukas. Ghodazari upstream irrigation project has been sanctioned recently with Rs 86.56 Crore preliminary budget which is planned at Gosikhurd right canal of 34 Kms and 20 Dalgahmi water. Since Governor has approved Rs 400 Crore budget for three districts, Chandrapur-Gadchiroli-Gondia, different irrigation projects in these districts will get momentum. Another special mention, in the current financial budget, the Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar also sanctioned Rs 500 Crores for the implementation of employment scheme in these three Naxal affected districts Chandrapur-Gadchiroli-Gondia.
