Roland Keyboards

Roland keyboards are definitely top quality professional musical keyboards. All the different manufacturers have a certain 'sound' of their own. Roland are well respected in recording studios for their rich, solid sound.

When choosing a Roland keyboard, you need first of all to decide whether you want it for recording or for general home use. Recording keyboards do not have internal amplifiers or loudspeakers. They are connected either to a mixing console, or to the audio input of the sound card of your computer.

Keyboards for general home use do have internal loudspeakers, so you do not need any additional equipment. These keyboards are primarily for having fun with music. They are not serious practice instruments.

Roland also make digital pianos. Modern digital pianos combine the sound quality of a real piano, the touch and feel of a real piano, and often even have genuine wooden or wood-finish cases. Their main advantage is that you can turn the volume down or play through headphones. You can even practise late at night without annoying other family members or neighbors.
