Small, Medium Or Large – Which Is Best For Your Next Tv?

Posted by Liz Seyi on September 16th, 2019

A lot of us have preferences in mind already when it comes to the features that we want from our new TV, governed by where and how we intend to use it. There’s also a good chance that you’ll already have a specific budget in mind – or a ballpark figure, anyway.

TV size though can be a rather different matter. We tend to think of our TVs mostly in terms of the viewing experience we get instead of their actual dimensions in the space we intend to view it. So, let’s cycle through some of the obvious TV sizes, and the main things that you need to consider if a particular size captures your interest.

Small’ TVs – up to 32 inches

We produce an assortment of innovative and generously featured smaller TVs here at Ferguson, with screen sizes of 16”, 20”, 22”, 24” and 32”. Variations of all these screen sizes are also available in 12v versions for motorhomes, caravans, boats etc.

It’s important to appreciate that you aren’t necessarily getting anything less sophisticated when you purchase a TV in any of the smaller screen sizes. Evenour ‘entry-level’ 16” TV, for example, is a Full HD LED TV incorporating Freeview T2 HD Channels, a built-in DVD player, satellite tuner, USB and HDMI inputs.

You might like to think a bit about where your new TV will be positioned in your home or vehicle. TV’s in these sizes are often well-suited to being wall mounted as they are slim, almost frameless and look quite stylish and modern. All Ferguson TV’s can be wall mounted with an appropriate bracket.

Medium’ TVs – 40 inches to 50 inches

It wasn’t so long ago that 40 inch screens were considered massive for a television but times change, and nowadays, you might buy such a TV if you are seeking a value for money compromise between picture size and price.

Ferguson 40” to 50” TVs provide an impressive experience especially if it’s been a few years since you last upgraded your TV. Our40” Full HD LED TV with DVD and Freeview T2 HD is a great case in point, as it gives you built-in Freeview T2 HD channels, a DVD player that fits neatly within the same unit, and the inputs necessary for attaching other devices such as consoles. On top of that it’s easy to set up and simple to operate

Large’ TVs – 55 inches upwards

You might imagine that given the size difference, the experience provided by a 55” TV such as our QLED Superfast Smart 4K HDR TV would be very different to the one that a 75” set like theFerguson Superfast Smart 4K HDR TV offers.

In some ways, you’re right to think that. However, it’s also true that once you get to these dimensions of Large-Screen Tv, you can expect an authentic home cinema experience basically regardless of the size you choose.

TVs in these sizes are ideal for entertaining large groups, whether you tend to watch Saturday night TV with the family, or anticipate inviting friends around on a regular basis to watch the football, tennis etc

There you have it – some of the key things that you might like to contemplate when deciding on the perfect size of your next TV. Remember that whether you have a small, medium or large-screen TV in mind, Ferguson is a historic, innovative and proven brand that also represents the best of British.
