On Beijing-China time last night,the 2019 FIBA World Cup championship,Spain claims its second FIBA World Cup title with 95-75 win over Argentina.Congratulations to Spain, and congratulations to Marc Gasol a rare double-title year.
Tournament MVP Ricky Rubio scored 20 points and Sergio Llull added 15 for Spain (8-0), the ninth team to make it through a World Cup or world championship unbeaten. Gasol scored 14 for the winners, who never trailed.
Gasol was among the five players named to the FIBA World Cup 2019 All-Star roster, joining Rubio, Luis Scola of Argentina, Bogdan Bogdanovic of Serbia and Evan Fournier of France. Rubio also earned MVP honors for his dominant tournament run, averaging 16 points, 4 rebound and 6 assists per game.
