Hysteroscopy is a procedure in which your fertility expert will look inside your uterus to diagnose and treat the causes of abnormal bleeding. Your fertility expert will use a hysteroscope to perform this procedure; a hysteroscope is a thin, lighted tube device which will be inserted into the vagina by your fertility expert so that they can easily examine your cervix and inside your uterus. Hysteroscopy is a procedure which can be performed either by using a diagnostic approach or by using an operative approach.

What do you understand by diagnostic hysteroscopy?

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a procedure in which your fertility expert will diagnose the problems of your uterus and accordingly offer you the best treatment. The main aim of conducting diagnostic hysteroscopy is that it will confirm the results of other tests, such as hysterosalpingography (HSG). HSG test is an X-ray dye which the fertility experts generally use to check the condition of women fallopian tubes and uterus.

What do you understand by operative hysteroscopy?

The fertility experts at Fertility Center Nepal will perform the operative hysteroscopy in which they can correct an abnormal condition of your uterus which has been identified while performing a diagnostic hysteroscopy. In case, an abnormal condition is identified during the diagnostic hysteroscopy then your fertility expert can perform an operative hysteroscopy at the same time; this will be done to avoid the need for a second surgery. When your fertility expert will begin to perform the operative hysteroscopy they will need a small instrument which helps in correcting the condition and it will be inserted through the hysteroscope.

How Hysteroscopy Treatment in Nepal is performed?

Your fertility expert will perform the Hysteroscopy Treatment in Nepal as follows:

  • Firstly, your fertility expert will use a tool called speculum through which she will spread the cervix.
  • Your fertility expert will insert a hysteroscopy device through your vaginal opening. With the help of a device, they can move the device through your cervix and then into your uterus.
  • After this, your fertility expert make use of liquid or carbon dioxide gas which they will send into your uterus with the help of device so that they can clear the surface and widen it slightly.
  • The light and camera which is attached at the end of the hysteroscope will allow your fertility expert to view inside your fallopian tubes and uterus. The purpose to use hysteroscope is that they can diagnose any issues or to perform any surgical procedures, if necessary.

If this is a procedure which is being used for surgery then your fertility expert will use a surgical device which will be put through the hysteroscope tube to perform the surgery.

The procedure is not painful; however, some women may experience cramping during the procedure. In such cases, the fertility expert at Fertility Center Nepal will give some sedatives before they begin the procedure which helps you to get more relaxed when the surgery has taken place. The extent of anesthesia which you required will depend on the purpose of your hysteroscopy. The entire procedure will take around 30 minutes to complete.

According to the study, the hysteroscopy procedure can be performed at your fertility expert’s clinic where they will give you the local or regional anesthesia. This is usually performed at a fertility expert clinic when the only removal of small polyps is required. In case, the hysteroscopy is being performed in conjunction with a more in-depth surgical procedure then the surgery will take place in hospitals only where your fertility expert will give you regional or general anesthesia which mainly depends on the extent of your surgery which is required.

What can be expected after hysteroscopy surgery?

After your hysteroscopy surgery is completed you will be observed for several hours before you get discharged from the hospital in case, the regional or general anesthesia is being used during the procedure. Once the procedure is completed, there are chances that you may have some cramping or little bit vaginal bleeding for one to two days.
