At the risk of being overly detailed, it may be fair to say there are no weed shops in Illinois. At present, the only legally permitted sale of marijuana here is for medical purposes. While a bill legalizing recreational marijuana has passed, sales will not be allowed until January 1, of 2020. When deciding on exactly how much, how often, and what type of marijuana best meets your needs, you are actually evaluating the medical effects of the drug. It's about addressing your ailment first. Let's talk a little more about the upcoming progress of marijuana sales in Illinois.

Where We Are Headed

With the legalization of marijuana and the expanded sales beginning next year, there will certainly be more emphasis placed on creating appealing retail environments. Part of this will include more extensive varieties of "weed" along with the paraphernalia to accompany it. The fundamentals of providing for people's medical needs will not be changing, however. And certain medical products will still only be available with the approval of a physician. So keep in mind that for Illinois, the changes may come a little slower than they did in Colorado or elsewhere. However, the inevitable future will include many more options for users.
