Microsoft Password Reset Using Account.live.com/acsr

Microsoft, the technology giant, offers a wide range of products and services to computer users worldwide. To ensure one-click access and easy management of all these products, it offers users a single platform known as direct account. By visiting account.live.com, you can view and manage everything, including Office, Edge, Skype, Outlook, Bing, OneDrive, Windows, and Cortana.

For this, you need to create a new account by providing the required details and setting up a strong password. At any time, if you forget the password for your live account, set a new password by following these instructions:

In this case, if you did not turn on 2-step authentication during account creation, choose this method to recover the password for your direct account. Here are the steps for the same:

  •          Open any web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer)
  •          Type account.live.com/acsr in the URL
  •          Enter the email address associated with your live account
  •          Now, provide an alternate email address that you want to use to recover your account
  •          In this case, if you don't have any account other than the account associated with your Live account, create the account by selecting "Create a new account using Outlook.com"
  •          Enter the CAPTCHA code
  •          Next hit
  •          You'll receive a code at your specified email address
  •          Copy the Live Account password reset code and enter it in the field provided
  •          Send itself and continue assigning a new password
  •          Retype the password to verify
