Army Cheetah Helicopter Crashed in Bhutan, Two Pilots Martyred !

Cheetah helicopter of the Indian Army crashed in Bhutan in which both pilots were killed. According to sources, a lieutenant colonel’s officer was included in the pilot who was martyred in this accident. The second was a Bhutan pilot training with the Indian Army. The incident occurred around 1 pm when the chopper suddenly lost contact. The cheetah flew from Khirmu to Yongfulla. Its debris has been traced.
Cheetah helicopter used since the 80s is now being called ‘death trap’. Army officers have been demanding to remove it for a long time. These helicopters are still flying with the technology of the 60s. Cheetah helicopters are serving more than their fixed age.
There are around 170 Cheetah and Chetak helicopters in the army. Production was stopped in the 1990s itself.
