Makeup Tips in Monsoons

It’s that season again ladies! Heat, humidity, and rain; all put together are going to wreak havoc on your hair and skin. But what’s going to suffer the most is your makeup! Dealing with melting makeup is certainly a big task during monsoons, and while stepping out with layers of makeup may not be a wise idea, going barefaced is not an option either. So, what do you do?

Well, you’ll be surprised to know that a few swaps in your regular makeup products are going to make all the difference for helping you survive the rains.

Here’s everything you need to know about preventing your makeup from melting down in the monsoons and here are some tricks to get rain-proof makeup this monsoon...

Switch to powder-based formulas

You don’t want that creamy foundation or eye shadow melting down in the rainwater, do you? To avoid such makeup blunders in the monsoon season, we suggest you switch to powder formulas. Using a powder foundation will not only give a matte finish but also help your foundation last longer.

Go for the one which promises an even tone coverage and works to perfect your makeup.

Say hello to waterproof mascara and eyeliner

While rainy days are quite a much fun and romantic if you stay in, they can be pretty disastrous if you have to step out, especially for a date night or a special occasion. You don’t want raccoon eyes on your date night, right?

Even though waterproof makeup takes time to come off, it’s the best way to keep your eye makeup from moving in the monsoons.

Use cream-based blush

Contrary to creamy formulas for eyes and face, using cream-based eye shadow palettes is a big yes in the monsoon season! So, keep your powdery blushes aside for a few months and get your hands on a cream blush.  Its ultra-rich creamy formula will set with a flawless finish and glide on the skin like velvet. Try subtle shades of pink and peach and blend well to achieve a soft and naturally glowy look.

Avoid glossy lipsticks

Lip glosses are classic and versatile, no doubt! However, they are not the best bet for the monsoon season. Glossy and creamy lipsticks may bleed easily in the humid weather. Therefore, we suggest you stick to soft matte lipsticks and go for pinks and browns instead of bold & bright shades.

Less is more

With the advent/ arrival of monsoon, the humidity will be at its peak. This will lead to sweating and dripping (falling) of makeup. Probably why we suggest you follow the less-is-more formula when it comes to makeup this season. While you may have already experimented with bright colors during summer, but now it’s time to settle for subtle ones.

Therefore, to keep your makeup game going strong in the rains, make a few switches in your makeup products.
