Transform a Building with Architectural SteelPosted by Blake Group on October 9th, 2019 When most people think of steel fabrication for a building, they think of structural steel to keep it standing and not steel to make it look good. As steel is tough, strong and long-lasting, even architectural steel will often have a structural purpose too. More and more, architects are adding stunning steel facades, balconies or railings to their buildings to make them stand out. The architect of this building has used steel to make it look good but also for a practical railing. As you look around modern flats you will see more and more uses of steel in particular for balconies. Staircases need to be sturdy and practical and meet tight building regulations for safety. Steel is ideal for commercial staircases and external staircases as it is both long-lasting and can be finished in many ways such as galvanised, colour galvanised, powder-coated or paint finished. All steel in these images has been fabricated by Blake Group in Edinburgh. Like it? Share it! |
