If your hair introduced itself to the gum in public, and you don't have access to any of the means to remove the gum. You'll have to separate the affected hairs. You could clip the remaining part of your hair away.

You could wrap the affected strands with covering, an aluminum foil will do just fine. When you eventually get home, pick any of the methods below and complete the job.

How To Get Gum Out Of Hair By Freezing

Quite painful thou. Our aim here is to harden the gum and make it easy to be peeled off. You'll need

  • A fridge or a block of ice
  • Saltwater
  • Plastic bag
  • Cooking oil

Step 1:
Apply the saltwater to the affected spot, this will aid in lowering the freezing temperature of the ice.

Step 2:
Apply a little cooking oil to the gum to prepare it for the ice.

Step 3:
Long Hair; Close your hair inside the freezer and allow for about twenty-five minutes.

Short Hair; Place the ice cube on the affected spot and wrap it with a plastic bag or any waterproof material. Leave for twenty to twenty-five minutes.

Step 4:
The gum should be hard by now. You can either start breaking the gum or sliding it out of your hair.

If you decide to break it into bits, you'll have to brush your hair thoroughly to clean your hair, the good part is they'll be less pain.

If you slid it out, it might go out smoothly but a little pain will be attached, you make the calling here. 😊

don't add much pressure to the gum lest it spreads. Work your finger or toothbrush around and on the affected spot.

Step 3:
Allow the lubricant to do its job, give it five minutes or thereabout.

Step 4:
Time to wrestle the gum, it may seem like a one-sided match cause you are on the winning end 😉.

Gently peel the gum out of your hair or you can use a wide-toothed comb to remove the gum.

Keep cleaning the comb after every successful slide.

Step 5:
When you are done with the gum, use a soft material soaked in warm water to clean the area that had the gum/lubricant.

Step 6:
I advise you to use shampoo on your hair, most lubricants may leave a scent there. You really don't want to walk around smelling like vegetable oil... 😉
