Both of these holidays come with large celebrations for families, friends, and communities. So, what can you do during the season to make the most of your community celebrations? Haunted HousesHaunted houses are one of the most popular Halloween centered events. Go for a laugh and a scare with your friends and families. You can wear your costume or street clothes. Georgia has many haunted houses that provide any level of thrill you are looking for. OktoberfestCelebrate German heritage with the well known Oktoberfest in Helen, GA. Enjoy music, dancing, food, and drinks that all nod toward German traditions. This isn’t just a weekend party either. This festival goes on for a couple of months, starting in September. Corn MazesCorn mazes in Georgia are popular both inside and outside of the Halloween celebrations. They are great fun throughout the entire autumn season. You can usually find haunted mazes for Halloween or regular ones for the rest of the season. They can be fun for the whole family. FairsThere are so many fairs that go on throughout autumn all over Georgia. While not all of them are specifically geared toward any specific autumn tradition or holiday, they are still fun parties to attend in the autumn. The weather is cooler than in the summer, so you’ll have more fun and won’t be complaining about the blistering heat all day. Ride the rides and enjoy the food found at fairs all over the world. The memories you make will be worth it. FestivalsAs with fairs, there are many festivals all throughout the months of autumn. Each one celebrates unique places, people, or things. You can celebrate certain flowers or heritages through these festivals. ParadesParades are also plentiful during this season. You can find different towns all over the state that will have parades celebrating different things. Adults may not find the parades as exciting as children will, but they are fun nonetheless. So, what will you do this autumn? Will you find a haunted house or a corn maze in Georgia? Or will you celebrate one of the many fairs, festivals, and parades available?
