Different Categories Of Storages For Recreational Vehicles

While RVs make for a convenient trip, they aren’t convenient to store. And you need to store them somewhere because you only use it for a month at most. State regulations make it difficult for you to store it at your home or a parking lot nearby for months. Even if you could legally park it at your garage, you may not have the space needed to keep it around. And you also have to worry about maintenance to keep it in top shape for the trip next year. Using an RV storage in Stuart is the better option. Depending on the structure and facilities, there are many types of storage options below:

Outdoor RV Storage

This is the cheapest commercial storage option. Because in this option, your motorhome is parked outdoors at a parking facility. Due to this, it is also called an RV parking space or open storage. It’s not the ideal option because your vehicle is exposed to all the elements in this area from sunlight to rain. Such facilities provide the bare minimum facilities if any at all. The parking lot is usually paved but may have gravel, dirt or potholes. If you park here, you need to use tough weather cover to protect your vehicle. Space is shared with other vehicles that could make parking and driving the RV difficult. Some security may be provided but will add to the storage bill. This option is okay for old models and a temperate climate.

Covered RV Storage

It’s a step above the outdoor storage option. Here, the parking area is covered by a shelter that covers the vehicles from sunlight, rain and hail. You will still need to winterize your motorhome to protect it from cold winds. Sometimes, the parking area is covered by walls on all sides to prevent robbers from entering but it may not be enough. The area may be secured with gated access, lighting and video surveillance to keep burglars and vandals out. It’s still not enough for areas with extreme weather conditions. It’s only slightly costlier than outdoor RV storage in Stuart which makes it a good option for you if you want something cheap and secure.

Indoor RV Storage

This is far costlier than covered and open storage options for good reasons. Here, the motorcoach is parked inside a hangar or garage alongside other vehicles. This protects the vehicles from all the weather elements. Some facilities can withstand hurricanes. It is also more secure from robbery and vandalism when compared with the previous options thanks to lighting and security. RV maintenance services may also be provided to keep the vehicle in top shape. But since the vehicles are stored together, parking and driving your RV might be slightly inconvenient.

Enclosed RV Storage

This is by far the costliest and the safest option on the list. Here, your recreational vehicle is stored inside an enclosed space that protects it from all outdoor elements, thieves and vandals. The enclosure is separated from other enclosures making the area exclusive to your unit. This gives you extra security and privacy. Facilities keep sufficient distance to make the driving and parking process smooth and easy. They provide gated access, lighting and video surveillance to keep the miscreants out. You shouldn’t have any problem with storage unless your motorcoach is very huge. These facilities provide other services like washing, charging, dump station, etc. to keep your vehicle ready for the road at any given moment. If you can afford it, it is the best option on the list.

Condo Storage

These are enclosed storage facilities with some exclusive features. Other facilities provide a parking space for rent but here you can buy the storage unit exclusive to your RV. They have storage units of different sizes, clubhouse and other attractive amenities. Basic facilities provided at enclosed storage is also provided here.

These are the categories of RV storage you can find. If you live in a harsh climate and have a good income, indoor and enclosed options would be the best for you. If your area has a mild climate you can save money with the outdoor or covered option.
