somehow faced it because we did not know how to tie our laces.
It is cute when a child is clumsy, but it can be dangerous. In some cases, children have
broken their teeth and gotten serious injuries just because of loose laces.
As parents and guardians, we must help children learn how to tie laces. They may not
get the difficult techniques, so; we have to adopt an easier strategy.

Why is it necessary to teach your kid to tie laces?
Children are careless, and they fall on the ground all the time. Sometimes it is probably
because of untied shoelaces. It can cause severe injury sometimes, so; we should save
them from this trouble.
When your teaching kids how to tie a knot, it is more helpful in their development than
you know.
It teaches them problem-solving skills, which is very crucial at their age. They will be
more confident in themselves and will try to find solutions to problems on their own.
If you are teaching them through a song, it helps them with their memory. They learn
how to relate things and remember them.
You are teaching them sequencing when they are told to follow a certain order to tie a
knot. It helps them a lot in their development.
If it helps you can use colored custom shoelaces to help your kid to concentrate,
children find colored things attractive. You can find these shoelaces online.
What are some easy lacing methods for kids?
There are hundreds of types of knotting techniques, but we have compiled the easier
ones. They will help your kid to learn faster.
Bunny ear technique:
This technique comes with a rabbit story. Therefore, it is quite a popular and successful
technique among children.
 Firstly, place your shoes on the ground along with the untied laces.
 Make a standard knot by crossing both of the laces.
 Now, make loops with both of the strings.
 They resemble bunny ears, let your children notice it so that they remember it
next time.
 After crossing the loops, take one of them and move it through the other loop.
 Stretch until the knot forms. You will end up with a bunny ear knot.

Circle technique:
 Rest the shoes on the ground along with laces.
 Make two standard knots.
 While making the second one, you will notice that it has formed a small circle.
 Let that circle stay in place. Form the front side, take one place and move it
through the circle.
 From the backside, do the same with other lace.
 You will end up two loops. By stretching them up tightly, you will have a perfect
and easy knot.
Ian technique:
 Put your shoes on the ground and untangle the lace.
 Create a regular knot but crossing one place to another.
 Tighten them up.
 Using your thumb and fingers of one hand make a loose loop on the front side.
 Using your thumb and fingers of the other hand, make a loose loop on the
backside.
 You will have two loops. Tighten them up.
Choose one technique at a time. It is difficult for kids to learn to tie a knot before the age
of six. They face problems in remembering the sequence. But a child of six can quickly
learn to tie their shoes if you show them how properly.
Don’t let them distract. Let them concentrate and practice again and again because it is
an essential skill that they should possess.
