Different type of Dental Implants

Taking care of oral health is vital to have an impressive and beautiful smile. Sometimes you need your dentist’s help to undertake a dental implant procedure to keep this smile safe. Dr Mccracken UAB (University of Alabama) is renowned for conducting such procedures all around the world. Given below are some of the types of dental implants that you may require in future if your teeth don’t seem to be reasonable: -

● Endosteal implants belong to the most common type and are suitable for the majority of patients, and it requires healthy jawbones. The false teeth are fitted onto the placeholder posts which are basically shaped like screws and are inserted into the jaw. Once the procedure is done, it fuses and creates a stronghold.

● If it is not possible to use the endosteal implants, then subperiosteal implants are an ideal substitute. Under this procedure, the implant rests on the top of the bone instead of fixing into the jawbone, but it is still placed under the gum. A metal frame is placed under the gum with a post attached to it, and the false teeth are secured to the poles that come from the gums.

● The most uncommon and complicated type of implants are the zygomatic implants; here, the implant is placed in the pat’s'se patie’s's cheekbone rather than the jawbone. It is only done when the patient does not have much jawbone for performing either of the other two implants. Dr McCracken UAB has expertise in carrying out such complicated procedures.

● When complications arise, and even the zygotic implants are out of option, then doctors look for other techniques like bone augmentation, sinus lift, ridge expansion and 3D imaging.

● Also, there are toothpick sized implants that are incredibly narrow, called as mini dental implants. Though, these are the least innovative type of implants whose primary function is to stabilize a lower denture but could be useful at times.

● All on four is used as an alternative in case if there is placing of a full set of top or bottom teeth replacement. This type gets its name, as four implants are placed in the available bone. A temporary set of teeth are put first and later, after six months it is replaced with the permanent collection.

A dentist would be able to decide the best implant as per your dental health. Dr. McCracken Uab performs as well as teaches the proper usage of each kind of implants.
