Adventure Diaries: from Delhi to Amritsar

There’s a lot to explore in the historic city of Amritsar which is why the place is frequented by a huge mass of tourists throughout the year. We too decided to go on a 2 days Amritsar tour from Delhi and the experience was absolutely unforgettable. Here’s how the 2 day trip unfolded to pave way for some lasting memories.

Kick-starting the tour

The early morning hours marked the beginning of this beautiful tour when we reached the Delhi Airport and boarded our flight to Amritsar. A quick and fun flight trip ended as we reached the gorgeous city of Amritsar. As we set foot on the city, the vibe itself was very welcoming. W reached the hotel and excitement kicked in as we prepared to leave for the first spot in our Amritsar city tour.

An inspiring Wagah Border Tour

Our wait ended as we headed to the monumental Wagah Border. I had heard great things about the Retreat Ceremony but the feeling of viewing the ceremony live cannot be expressed in words. To see the soldiers of both India and Pakistan march together and shake hands fills you with an immense sense of joy and pride. The ceremony instils a strange and sudden sense of patriotism which hasn’t left me till today. After the Wagah Border tour, we headed back to the hotel and the day came to a satisfying end.

A fun-filled day 2 at Amritsar

Day 2 of our adventure marked the fun Amritsar sightseeing tour which was absolutely amazing. We began by visiting the famous Golden Temple without which an Amritsar tour is incomplete. It was such a soothing experience to see the sacred rituals take place while we enjoy the stunning sight of the opulent temple. Later, we visited the Jallianwala Bagh which brings back the sad memory of the massacre when a large number of innocent lives were lost. Visiting the place makes you respect your freedom and not take it for granted as people sacrificed themselves to give us this life. The last leg of the tour was a fun shopping session at the lively Hall Bazaar which gave us a much needed retail therapy and with a flight back to Delhi, the exciting tour came to a memorable end.
