What is Mesotherapy used for?

Ageing brings a lot of changes in our body as well as in our skin. A prominent change that is observed in our skin is the loosening of skin particles that result in wrinkles, fine lines and dark spots. These changes are especially observed on our skin present in our face, hands, stomach and thighs as well.

Many people might be least bothered about it and may also go well with it but there may also be some who would like to get rid of it. For this, there is a treatment called Mesotherapy which helps to get rid of such undesired skin concerns. Mesotherapy is a quite simple process. Neither does it require any laser treatment or surgery but it only makes use of injections on your skin.

These injections are harmless since it is made up of combined tissues of pharmaceutical and homoeopathic preparations like vasodilators and antibiotics, plant and herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals, hormones like calcitonin and thyroxin, enzymes like collagenase and hyaluronidase, etc. You will have to undergo a series of Mesotherapy sessions to get effective results. This therapy was first proposed in 1952 in France by a doctor named Michel Pistor.

This procedure has been still doubted since many types of research and studies have not resulted in giving satisfying answers to the queries of its researchers on how effective these treatments are actually on our skin. In its initial days, Mesotherapy was widely popular in the United States as it was used as a pain relief treatment. But whether it gives immediate results or speedy recovery of our skin is still questioned. However, various uses of this treatment on our body and skin can be stated as follows:

  • Removal of excess fat from our body especially in areas of the stomach, thighs, arms, legs, face and buttocks.
  • Reduces persistent subcutaneous fat causing dimpling of our skin on areas of hips and thighs. This skin syndrome is also known as cellulite and is widely perceived in women.
  • Helps in fading wrinkles and lines that appear as a result of ageing
  • Also helps in tightening of loosened and sagging skin
  • Helps in contouring of our body
  • Reduces skin pigmentation
  • Also helps in treating a condition called Alopeciawhich results in excessive hair loss that is in the form of partial or complete baldness or absence of hair from parts of our body from where it normally grows.

The process of Mesotherapy is carried out by using very fine needles to deliver substances by injecting it into the middle layer of our skin which also known as mesoderm. Thus, the term Mesotherapy has been derived by the name of the layer of skin at which it is applied and is effective. Mesotherapy once again rejuvenates your skin by facilitating blood circulation in the skin and by removing inflammation from affected areas.
