It is a busy week for earning’s season!
Posted by Obugroup on October 29th, 2019
This week continues the busiest segment of earnings season, with 146 S&P 500 companies reporting on their final third quarter results. This week kicks off with Alphabet, Walgreens, T-Mobile US and AT&T reporting on Monday. Following on Tuesday we will see General Motors alongside Advanced Micro Devices leading the charge, and Wednesday will bring the results of Facebook, Apple, and General Electric.
The end of the week will be closed out by Kraft Heinz, DuPont and Chevron.
Alongside one of the busiest weeks for earnings, the economic data front has an equally busy time. The main event that a number of investors are waiting for, is the Federal Open Market Committee’s October meeting, in which the market has expectations of lower interest rates. We can expect the committee’s statement to be released at around 2pm on Wednesday followed closely by a press conference with chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell at 2.30 pm.
Other releases this week will see the conference Board’s October Consumer Confidence index on Tuesday afternoon, the Bureau of economic Analysis’s advance estimate of the third quarter GDP, and to close the week, we will see the hourly earnings figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday.
