Safety roof anchor points are an important part of a fall protection system. Fall protection anchor points are normally installed on the roof and are used to connect lanyards, lifelines, and other forms of tie-off which prevent a worker from falling. Roof anchors can be as simple as a D-ring connection or as complex as anentire lifeline system. 

Workers working at heights must be protected from falls with certified fall protection systems; it’s the law. Adequate and dependable roof anchor points are the starting point for any roof safety system. Anchor Points must be initially certified by the owner re-certified every ten years or every five years, if the anchor manufacturer (e.g. adhesive anchors) feels it is necessary. This means they must be physically tested to OSHA required 2,500 lbs. (proof load) Thereafter, the anchor must be visually inspected annually, minimally by a Competent Person (or Subject Matter Expert) with records kept by the owner.
