Remote big led matrix artnet raspberry pi

We are going to do a big wifi led matrix. The project uses 200 ws801 LEDs, a large power supply like this led Nexus 5V 40A 200 W, a Raspberry Pi like the Opera \"brain. We started to make the wooden structure of the matrix, and then we went to make the brain. Raspberry pie with OLA for raspberry pie. After that, you can operate the matrix in wifi mode. Within the LAN, you can use the computer to send images, text and animations of the led matrix to the Raspberry Pi. You can purchase 200 w801 units via Amazon website or Raspberry Pi 3 or Mini Raspberry Pi ZERO. To build the structure of the matrix, I used 2 wooden tables 1 mt x 1 mt. I have cut the frame after I cut the partition. To create an orderly structure, I consider putting an LED every 10 cm m, so I have 10 LEDs on each side. The entire surface of each matrix from 1 mt x mt 1 is covered by 100 LEDs, each of which has 200 LEDs. Each array is separated from each other and can also be used separately. When the matrix is placed, it fits itself to form a single, strong body. I made the whole structure with vinyl. All partitions are hammered on his side to fit the sides. The structure is very light and strong.

I used a heavy battery and a lot of straps to fix the structure firmly. You can make holes when the structure is ready. There are only 200 holes in the whole project :-) These holes are right in the center. My suggestion is to center the hole with a mask. If you want a perfect result, you can draw inside the structure. Because white reflects all the colors, the paint is white. When the led shines, this color reflects to the structure in the opposite direction. After I applied the plexiglass opaline, covered the structure like in the photo. The ws801 led light strip can be used. This is a led strip with a microprocessor inside each led for managing RGB led. There are 4 of these: gnd vcc data clock. Each led uses 0, 06 a at 5 volts. Consumption per led is 0,3 w. 60w current is used for 200 LEDs. For this reason, the most important thing is to use the secondary power outlet through the nutrition of the led. I use the 50w 5v power supply.

My suggestion is to add a 1000 mF condenser before connecting to the led. If you use more than one band, my suggestion is to connect nutrition parallel to each band. Raspberry Pi is the brain of our led matrix. You can manage the led using the Raspbian distribution. The release is OLA. You can download the last version of OLA through: and install the image on SD. After you can start the Raspberry Pi and connect it to the LAN. You can open the settings page through your computer\'s browser. Access is simple. Go to the IP of your Raspberry Pi. Just like you look at the OLA settings page, everything works fine. Now you edit ola-spi. conf. Do this via terminal numbers: sudo nano/var/lib/ola/conf/ola-spi. Conf inserts the correct configuration.

Follow the instructions below: Save the file using _ single _ output instead of restarting the system. Number: restart sudo. After the setup page of OLA in 192. 168. x. X browser page, select ArtNet for input and SPI for output. Now, you can use Glediator or jester on your computer! You can only select Glediator if you use the OSX system. Instead, you can use Glediator and jester if you use a Windows system! You can download Glediator through this link ( You can download Jaime! by this link ( You can connect the Raspberry Pi to the led matrix. The pin \"data\" of the Led must be connected to the GP10 (MOSI). The pin \"clock\" of the Led should be connected to the GP11 (SCKL). Ground \"GND\" of LED \"(blue) Must be connected to the GPIO on the ground. I have tested the matrix with Arduino UNO and Adafruit libraries. For testing, I recommend using this solution to exclude other elements ( Lan, protocol, etc. ). The matrix is great. I can use this matrix for text messages, animations, or real-time programming animations like processing or something like that. The total cost of the material project is 0. The best solution is Raspberry Pi like the brain, because you can use the guide matrix elsewhere and you can view the animation. Really cool!
