Where To Stay In Marrakech

If you are travelling to Morocco, you can't look past a stay in Marrakech. Marrakech offers an intoxicating blend of old and new, east and west. You can spend your days seeking out treasures in local souks or trying out a camel ride. At night Marrakech does not sleep, there are world-class restaurants to discover, fabulous entertainment such as snake charmers, acrobats, belly dancers and more. With all this to explore, all you need to decide on is where to stay Marrakech.

A great alternative to staying in a hotel is to stay in a traditional Moroccan Riad. Riad is a name for a Moroccan home, which is appropriate, as this is what a Riad will be to you during your stay. Riad comes from the Arabic word for garden, as most Riads feature and interior garden or courtyard. The courtyard will usually have a water feature, like a fountain and a few orange and lemon trees. Designed to give shelter from the North African sun, Riads have a few small windows on the exterior of the building, then feature many rooms which all lead to the interior courtyard. There is plenty of space for indoor and outdoor living.
