Federal Minister for Information Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Saturday has announced a ‘Beti’ app to empower women.
In this regard, a meeting was held in Islamabad under the Ministry of Information Technology in which it was decided to launch a mobile application.
It was informed during the meeting that the application will serve as a portal that provides information on women’s rights, rules and regulations, training and scholarship opportunities.
The Beti’s app will also provide helpline and job portal services for women.
In addition, through this application, women can find nearby hospitals, educational institutions, police stations and hostels.
An app will also serve as the main platform for public and private sector programs to empower women.
The purpose of this developing mobile app is to empower women through communication technology.
Federal Minister for Information Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also applauded the move and directed the app to be developed.
