Try The Delicious Recipe of Baby Aloo Pulao For A Perfect Sunday Brunch

If you are looking for a recipe with rice, how about you combine the same with baby potatoes? There is one recipe which might surprise your whole family.

Let’s start with the ingredients first. Now sure which recipe it is? Well it’s a perfect blend of rice and baby potatoes in pulao recipe.
 
Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 cups Basmati rice
  • 500 grams Baby Potatoes, peeled
  • 1 Onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 cup Curd (Dahi / Yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/4 cup Mint Leaves (Pudina) , finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Coriander (Dhania) Leaves , finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies , slit
  • 1 Star anise
  • 1 Bay leaf (tej patta)
  • 4 Cloves (Laung)
  • 2 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • Salt , to taste

Instructions:

To begin with, wash and soak the basmati rice for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, peel the baby potatoes and immerse them in a bowl for some time. Take a bottomed pan and heat ghee in the same. Tap dry the baby potatoes and fry the same till they turn golden in colour. Take them out on the kitchen towel and keep it aside for a while.

In the same pan, now add all the whole garam masalas and let the aromatic smell release. Add the sliced onions along with ginger garlic paste and stir it for 4 minutes. Now add the tomatoes and chillies and let it cook till they turn soft. Add all the dry spices along with curd in the pan and mix it well. Add the coriander leaves and mint in the mixture.

Now add the soaked rice in the pan along with baby potatoes. Add water in the same along with salt and lemon juice. Now let it simmer on the low flame for atleast 20 minutes.

Once the rice is perfectly cooked, switch off the flame and mix the rice properly. This dish is quite easy to prepare and one of the delicious pulao recipes that you can cook for your friends and family on a weekend.
