The Indonesian Island of Bali is, for good reason, a firm favorite on many tourists’ bucket lists. The haven island is full of contrasts, and one can go from beach to rainforest to mountain all inside a couple of hours. Not to say the great food & unbelievably friendly locals. It Bali was not on your travel list before, here are a few reasons the island must be your next vacation destination.

Uluwatu:

On the southern coast of Bali is Uluwatu, home to Pura Luhur Uluwatu – an iconic temple perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It is recognized for its excellent surf & has become a haven for surfers from all over the world. The cliff-side bars have incredible views over the water, and it’s a beautiful spot to watch the sun go down.

Ubud:

The spiritual and cultural capital of Bali, Ubud is long been a retreat for fans of meditation & yoga, and has gained even more recognition following the movie Eat, Pray, Love.

In the centre there’s a massive market full of clothes, food, jewellery and furniture, which you can easily spend a day (or 5) exploring.

Shopping:

Bali is a shopper’s Paradise. Besides the huge Ubud markets, there’re boutiques all over the island selling clothes & jewellery by local designers, and also workshops full of wonderfully hand carved wooden furniture. The only issue is fitting it all in your baggage!

Yoga:

Bali has turned one of the go to destinations for yoga lovers, and there’re endless classes to enhance your downward facing dog & cobra poses.

For the more adventurous, you can also now try anti gravity yoga, which involves doing some of the conventional yoga poses while suspended from the ceiling.

Islands:

If you are in Bali for more than a few days, then it is certainly worth heading out to one of the close by islands. The closest is Nusa Lembongan, which has wonderful beaches and a very comfortable atmosphere.

Surfing:

Bali has been a surfing paradise since the 70’s and the island has more than 60 great surf spots. Beginners should head to Kuta or Legian and for the more advanced surfer, Uluwatu, Padang Padang and Dreamland are considered some of the top breaks on the island.

If you are looking to spend 4 or 5 days here in Bali, and want to make your stay a luxurious one, then don’t hesistate to consider bali villa in rental which are readily available through service provider like Villa Bali Biz.
