How to Move Around in a Document Using Dragon NaturallySpeaking Tools?

Posted by Nuance Dragon Technical Support on November 28th, 2019

As everybody knows, the Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking Software works on the voice commands. From editing to dictating and everything, you can do it all by your voice, just as if you are talking with a person one in one.

So, during your dictation, if you want to take your cursor here and there in the document and you tell NaturallySpeaking where to move the cursor in its document window, you’d have to choose among the three options –

• Give a directional command like “Move Up Five Lines.”
• Specify a location in the document by saying, “Go to End of Paragraph.””
• Speak the text and count on NaturallySpeaking to find it by saying, “Insert After wish you were here.””

However, you can also use mouse and keyboard to move around in a document, but if you want to do it by using your voice, here’s the solution!

Say “Go to the Head of the Line” in Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking

Like you tell your driver to take the car here or there, you can command Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking to go the beginning or end of the document, the specificcurrent paragraph, line, (where the cursor is available in present) or whatever the block of text is selected.

So, the destination commands would be as follows - #1.Go to Bottom – This will take the cursor at the end of the document. #2.Go to Top – This takes the cursor to the beginning or top of the document.

#3.Go to Top(or Bottom) of Paragraph(or Line or Selection) – This will take you to the top or bottom of the selected paragraph, line or the block of the text.

However, you can also speak ‘Move’ instead of ‘Go to’ to make the cursor move around in a document in NaturallySpeaking Software.

Sometimes, the Nuance Dragon recognized only a single form of a command more appropriately than another.

For instance, if you speak ‘Go To’, the software might misinterpret and take it as ‘Good’, ‘Do To’ or ‘Due To’. To avoid such mistakes, you must train your Dragon to efficiently recognize the pronunciation of ‘Go To’. Above all, you will find the pronunciation of ‘Move To’ much easier than training Dragon to recognize ‘Go To’.

So, there are many ways you can train your Dragon to move around. If you want to know more ways, please connect with our experts Nuance Dragon Support Service on Toll-free 1-702-430-6099
