How does it affect me to be a repeat offender in criminal records?

Whenever a crime of the same nature as the previous one is committed again, you will be considered a repeat offender, for the legal purposes of this figure. However, and more since the last reform of the Criminal Code, the new deadlines will have to be taken into account in order to cancel the criminal record.

In order for them to be removed, they must have been without committing a specific term.

For the calculation of the deadlines to remove criminal offenses Canada, it will be counted from the day after the penalty is extinguished.

Example: If the period of cancellation of six months for minor offenses begins to compute at the end of the sentence (the next day), and taking as a reference on March 15, 2019, it may have the status of removable on the next 15 September 2019. During this period you cannot remove the criminal records.

Criminal record:

The criminal record is removable, taking care of the time required for it.

In order to remove them, several requirements must be met:

- To have fulfilled the civil responsibility derived from the sanction (except in cases of insolvency or economic improvement of the inmate).
- Do not commit crimes during the established deadlines for cancellation depending on the type of crime (6 months in the case of minor penalties, between 2 and 3 years for less severe penalties and 5 years for serious penalties).
That is, those criminal records may be removed as long as the defined period has elapsed without a new crime being incurred.

Those who meet these requirements can request a form through the website of the Ministry of Justice or simply submit a document stating: name, address for notification, location and province, date of birth, a document proving their identity and address they designate for notification purposes, as well as the clear manifesto of the cancellation request.

In the case of having some type of criminal record, provide a sentence or document proving compliance with the penalty.

It can be presented in person at the General Registry of the Ministry of Justice or, if residing abroad, at the diplomatic and consular offices by regular mail, or through the website.
