Is it a cakewalk to rent a flat in Jaipur?

It has been said and believed that one of the top three priorities for any human being is clothes, food and a roof over your head. Sometimes in this fast advancing world to accumulate food and clothes are not difficult enough but the process of finding a proper shelter for yourself and your family is still known as 'House Hunting'. It may not involve literally chasing an animal but sometimes the effort does feel like I have become a primitive man who has returned from a hunt after a day of searching for a home or a flat to live in.

How my hunt for a flat on rent in Jaipur did come to an end?

I have been working for an automotive sector almost my whole life and I was almost in my fifties my company decided to transfer me to Jaipur from Pune for running operations in the newly built production unit in Jaipur. Jaipur has always been known as the 'pink city' of India and has been an iconic historical city. But that is not the only important thing for Jaipur anymore and I understood that much better when I and my family shifted to Jaipur.

One of the prime reasons for me and my family to move to Jaipur was also because my daughter had got the opportunity to study in one of the best institutes for her engineering entrance examinations in Kota. Kota is not far from Jaipur and my daughter could easily visit us on weekends while she stays in Kota.

When I and my family first arrived in Kota, one of my company colleagues helped us to find a temporary flat on rent in Jaipur. The flat was a 2 BHK and yet it felt like a 1BHK as it was too small and compact. We were not even able to unpack all our household goods which we brought with us through transport. I and my wife decided that this was just a temporary place and we will start searching for other flats in Jaipur as soon as we could settle down.

After a month or so I and my wife started looking for a flat on rent in Jaipur which would have a better commute and more space as well as affordable. But this is the time when I realized some other facts about Jaipur which I didn't know until now, some of them are:

Jaipur being the capital city of Rajasthan is one of the fastest-growing cities in India.

With growth, the city also has a rapid increase in population too.

Being a tourist destination it has a huge rush of tourists from different parts of the world and some of the foreign tourists also decide to stay in Jaipur while renting a flat at sky-high prices.

Jaipur is located on the golden quadrilateral and has enormous amounts of traffic coming over from nearby cities of Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat as well as Mumbai.

It has been on the rise of becoming a megacity by 2025 and has a rapidly developing real estate market.

Although some of the points mentioned above would have been beneficial to me like more development in real estate meant more options to choose from and better infrastructure. But the points like foreign tourists renting places meant we would be entertained less by brokers as a foreign tourist would pay more like renters than us as common citizens. The chance of looking for affordable flats in Jaipur was also becoming slim as a megacity meant that prices of real estate would also be sky high and the dense population in the city meant more traffic and pollution.

I started to regret my decision immediately as I thought that maybe I made a mistake by agreeing to transfer to Jaipur as I would have to live in the small flat through my entire term as I would not be able to afford a bigger flat on rent in Jaipur at my expected price.

One fine day, after another month of distress about moving to Jaipur I came across a website recommended by a young colleague of mine who also moved from Gurgaon, Haryana to Jaipur about Housing.com. He is a tech-savvy guy and had shown me his flat which he had rented in one of the posh localities in Jaipur known as Jagatpura at astonishing rates. I had almost freaked out on discovering this magic wand which was weaving properties at such rates. Some 4 BHK properties are as big as 2500 sq. Ft. was offered at 15000 rupees per month of rent. This website was not only meant for a flat on rent in Jaipur but one can also buy flats in Jaipur through Housing.com at astonishing rates.

Some of the steps of searching for properties in Housing.com are: First, you need to visit their website.

Then you have to register on their website through Google or any other email address and that it, now you can start searching for properties of your choice. Some of the amazing features and filters offered by housing.com are just out of this world, like One of the filters allows choosing the type of listing for your flat i.e. whether you would buy or rent through a broker, owner or developer.

Another feature involves choosing the type of property you are looking for like an Independent house, apartment, plot, studio, duplex, penthouse or villa. Some other filters like the number of bathrooms, the direction of the face of the property, amenities as well as possession type can be chosen as filters in the Housing.com website.

Housing.com changed my perspective about realty websites and helped to find an affordable flat on rent in Jaipur where I can stay with my family in peace and tranquillity. One of the amazing features offered by the website before you start looking for flats in Jaipur is that they ask whether you want the property for bachelors, or property near great nightlife spots, great commute spots or properties without brokerage fees or owner flats. Housing.com has helped to solve my real estate problem overnight.
