The woman charged with felony assault for stabbing a man with her stiletto on a subway for wearing an ugly 8-ball jacket took a plea deal Thursday in Manhattan court. Danay Howard, 21, copped to assault in the second degree and assault in the third degree for a wild brawl captured on cellphone video that broke out on an F train in Greenwich Village on Nov. 8, 2014.
It was 1950, and for the previous four years, Bookman's company Alabe Crafts had tried to market the Syco-Seer. Sold as a "miracle home fortune teller," the toy was a cylinder filled with dark liquid containing a pair of floating dice, their surfaces scribed with fateful predictions. Users would ask a question, shake up the Syco-Seer and then wait for the device to give them the answer. Only there weren't many users, and Alabe's nesting the cylinder inside a crystal ball in 1948 hadn't helped.
Miniclip's "8 Ball Pool" has become the number one grossing app in the UK. The billiards game also is the number two most downloaded game in the US on Android devices. Gaming website GamesIndustry.biz reported that Miniclip has now surged ahead of some of the most well-known mobile game developers. It has finally been able to head the list of top grossing apps. That's the message the creator of the iconic 8-ball jacket has for Jorge Pea, the straphanger who hit back after he was attacked on the subway for wearing the retro duds.
To set the scene, you've got Mark and Josh in the backyard playing a high-stakes game of billiards with the loser having to drink a cup of pickle juice with hot sauce mixed in. 8 Ball Pool is already enjoyed by millions of users in the West, where it boasts 1 billion monthly gameplays across mobile, web and social platforms. The game has been given an overhaul for a Chinese audience, with the introduction of new features, controls and game mechanics as well as translation into Chinese.
