Being a human being, it’s our right to treat everyone equally. You can never judge anybody’s capabilities by his/her physical disabilities. Our faults make us unique, respect them, and love them. This article is based on a comprehensive discussion on ADA, its significance, and things included in ADA inspection.

What is the ADA?

ADA stands for "Americans with Disabilities Act." This act was recognized as law in 1990. It states that no human being male, female. Children or transgender will be discriminated at any public or private place based on their physical disabilities.

ADA Accessibility Standards

ADA is applied to every place in America. To specify the list, I am mentioning here the locations precisely:

  • Medical care
  • Educational institutes
  • Residential and commercial buildings
  • Bus station
  • Airport
  • Railway station

ADA inspections in home

Before 2010, 95% of buildings in America were not complaint to ADA due to less prevalence. But after 2010, it was prevailed in every city and state of America to give disabled people equal opportunities to live or work anywhere they want.

ADA Inspection Company Los Angeles

Realtors, state agents, and business owners prefer hiring an ADA Inspection Company in Los Angeles rather than self-inspection to get their premises approved by government officials.

ADA Home inspection checklist

Here is the list of components that need to be inspected in the home to make it ADA compliant.

  • Bathrooms
  • Bedrooms
  • Doors and hallways
  • Ramps and slopes
  • Parking areas

These are the things to be inspected comprehensively in each component.

  • The toilet seat should be 17-19 inches above the floor.
  • There must be an accessible faucet that should be easy to use(can be used with one hand) without tight twitching of wrist.
