Essential Hair Extension Information

The quality of hair extension is important, so you don't mess your hair up, and we understand that you may have questions. So let's get started...

Where does the hair come from?

Hair extensions may come from a variety of countries including China, India, and Russia.

Hair extensions should be made from quality hair, that is natural looking and feeling, by a team that know what they are doing. The hair is Quality 100% Remy Human hair. (Remy simply means that the cuticle is laying in the same natural direction as the hair). A great source of hair is Chinese hair, A1 Grade and it is Salon quality, feather light, with a soft natural looking texture. (Courtney recently shared "it feels like normal hair, softer than my own).

There are generally four types of hair extensions:

Loop Micro Link Hair Extensions

Woven Weft (Sewn onto your hair)

Glue in Extensions

Clip In Extensions

How are they applied?

1. Loop Micro Link... Easily attached and removed

Latest 'Attachment Technology', faster, far easier to attach, all in one system

One - Step application

Speed of Application

Quick & Simple re-positioning

More comfortable as they have the smallest attachment link, which is greatly appreciated at 2am in the morning.

2. Micro Link Hair Extensions ( requiring the use of a pulling needle)

Same benefits as Loop, but harder to apply, slower and generally result in a bulkier finished attachment.

3. Woven Weft Extensions (Sewn into your hair)

Rarely used due to re positioning problems, but were very popular for people with active lifestyles, the Loop Micro Links' has superseded most benefits of this technology.

4. Glue in Thermal Extensions

Until recently, the most widely used application technology. A bulkier finished attachment, slower and more difficult to remove or reposition and in many cases causes hair breakage during removal.

5. Clip In Hair Extensions are quite apart from more permanent extensions and fulfils an entirely purpose... still the best solution for that special 'one off' evening.

Requires little time to apply (5 - 10 minute application), and are quickly removed from the hair.

For the occasional instant long hair effect.

Planning for your extensions: If colouring service is needed on your natural hair, it best to complete this at least 48 hours prior to having your Loop Micro Link extensions applied.

When Do I Have My Next Hair Cut? It is best to have your hair cut AFTER the extensions are installed. Your new extension hair may be cut normally, but do advise your stylist about them, prior to the service commencing.

Perming: Under no circumstances should this service be attempted.

Hair Extension Maintenance: Regularly check your micro beads and Re crimp any loose extensions as necessary. Always check after any chemical service.

Styling: Always use a hair extension brush or other flexible, firm bristle brush. Avoid excessive wet combing Your Hair Extensions should be treated like any other chemically treated hair. The use of blow-wavers, thermal curling or straightening irons is quite ok, but it is highly recommended to use a thermal protectant hair care product. Most professional manufacturers produce good quality thermal protectant products, and remember to use your silicone spray serum.

With clip- ins or loop micro links hair extensions YOU will be looking even more beautiful.
