Process of Using MicroBiometer For Biomass Soil Test

Posted by Micro Biometer on December 9th, 2019

The characteristics of the soil change from place to place so it is essential to check the quality and know the status of the same for the right growth of the plants. The living components or the microbial biomass present in the soil play a vital role in the uptake of the plants and the right yield of the products. The microbial biomasses are mostly bacteria and fungi which decompose the crop residues and organic material in the soil which releases nutrients like nitrogen. The release of nutrients in the process is used and absorbed by the plants for healthy growth. Thus the presence of such biomass becomes positive for the soil so to know the exact status and quality of the soil, biomass soil test is conducted. Most often, people carry the process of soil tests in the lab which is costly yet not accurate. The lab testing of the soil means carrying the sample to the lab which further attracts more impurities. The further addition in the sample mostly changes the result and people have to suffer due to that. To avoid such complications in testing, MicroBiometer For Biomass came in the market in which there is no need to carry a sample to the lab. The test is conducted on the field without any mishandling. People do not readily accept Microbiometer because they find it complicated to use so to make them the comfortable following are the stepwise process:

  • People will start the process by downloading the MicroBiometer App. The app requires login details of the user. It is advised to browse the app and analyze the test card so that there are no complications after collecting the sample.
  • The next step starts the exact biomass soil test in which people have to collect the sample of the moist soil near the plant root. Remove the non-soil debris, if possible with the use of sifters and bags.
  • Continue the process by transferring the content from the powder packet into the extraction vial.
  • Next, people have to add water or compost tea in the extraction vial. The right measurement for the liquid will be mentioned on the machine. In case people are not able to find, they can take 9.5 ml of water to be specific.
  • Now people have to fill the soil sample syringe with the soil and compress with the finger. There is some specific measurement for the soil sample in the syringe so it is advised to remove the excess and then into extraction vial.
  • Further, the vial will be kept on the holder and mixed with the help of the whisker probe for 30 seconds.
  • After mixing, the liquid must be left to rest for 10 minutes s so that microbial suspension comes on the top and particles settle down.
  • Next, people have to draw liquid from about half an inch below the surface with the use of a pipette. The floating debris must be avoided.
  • One by one, three drops of liquid must be applied to the sample window and further analyzed with the app within 2 minutes.
  • Once the sample reaches the right destination, people have to follow the direction of the app to get the final result.

The use of the MicroBiometer is fast and easy if people follow the process properly. As compared to the lab test, results are also accurate. The only thing people should know is that they must buy the machine from the trusted supplier with a warranty.
