What is an lcd display screen

The liquid crystal display is referred to as an LCD screen, and the main material is liquid crystal. Liquid crystal is an organic material. In a specific temperature range, it has both liquid flow and certain optical characteristics. Its transparency and color change with external conditions such as electric fields, magnetic fields, light, and temperature.

The LCD display screen is a passive display device. The liquid crystal itself does not emit light. It is displayed by reflecting or transmitting external light. The stronger the light source, the better the display effect. The liquid crystal display screen is made of liquid crystal's optical property change characteristics under the action of an electric field.

The LCD screen is divided into a pen segment display and a dot matrix display.

A pen-segment liquid crystal display encloses the liquid crystal material between two glass plates. The inner surface of the upper glass plate is coated with a seven-segment transparent electrode in the shape of an "8". Electrode (back electrode)

When an appropriate amount of voltage is applied between a certain transparent electrode on the glass plate on the LCD panel and the common electrode on the lower glass plate, the “scattering effect” will occur if the liquid crystal is held between the common electrode on the lower glass plate. ", The clamped liquid crystal will show the shape of the segment.

If a transparent electrode of a certain shape is coated on the inner surface of the upper glass plate, as long as a certain voltage is applied between the electrode and the common electrode below, the LCD screen can display the shape!

There are two types of driving methods: static and dynamic (scanning).

When the static driving method is adopted, the entire display screen uses a common back electrode and a pin is connected, and each segment of the electrode needs to be independently connected to the pin, so the display pin number of the static driving method is large.

When using dynamic driving (that is, scanning mode), each of you must have independent back poles, and the corresponding segments of the electrodes are internally connected together to lead out a pin, and the number of display screen pins in dynamic driving mode is small.
