Globalization and Technology

In my opinion, globalization is limited. I do not think it will continue limitlessly. I do not think that in the future people will live in “global village”. The main reason is that globalization movement is restricted. More and more people understand that globalization has not only benefits, but also drawbacks. Moreover, many governments restrict globalization via laws and rules; for example, they limit free trade and migration. Therefore, globalization is likely to continue, but its development may become more suppressed because of social protests and governmental regulations. I do not think “global village” will exist due to the vast expansion of information technologies. In the interview essay, I try to describe the importance of Technology nowadays.

The fast development of information technologies influences globalization greatly. The development of both computers and the Internet contributed to globalization a lot. As the number of people who have computers with the fast Internet increases, it enables people to receive information and news from different countries immediately. They can study all necessary facts about other countries and communicate with people from all over the world. As a result, globalization processes grow.

Mobile phones is one more new technology that has contributed to globalization. More and more people have these devices, with the help of which they can communicate with people from other parts of the world more easily (“Information Technology,” n.d.).

IT development influences different spheres of life. Business enterprises can study economic and other conditions in different countries. Consequently, they can open their branches there or find partners from other countries. People can find work or go to study abroad. They can communicate with people from other parts of the world and learn about their traditions and life.

Therefore, IT development contributed to globalization at personal, social and business levels, as well as on the national or global scale.
