HMI in Automation Industry

HMI (Human Machine Interface) is the interface between the user and the machine. For example Screen of ATM Machine. It can be a touch panel or a button type. With the help of a touch screen user, can gives an Input and the machine is giving you money by doing a transaction at the backend. A Human Machine Interface offers a visual representation of control systems and gives real-time data acquisition. An HMI can raise efficiency by having a centralized control center which is extremely user-friendly.

Human Machine Interface is different names such as Computer-Human Interface, Man-Machine Interface (MMI), Human-Computer Interface or Operator-Interface Terminal (OIT), Local Operator Interface (LOI) or Operator Terminal (OT).  HMI and GUI are similar but not synonymous: GUI is most often used in HMI for visualization capabilities.
