Tottenham will welcome the return to form of Peter Crouch, who got a hattrick on Wednesday, helping his side to a 4-0 rout of Young Boys, in the Champions League play offs.

Roberto Martinez's Wigan began their Premiership campaign disastrously, against newly promoted Blackpool, losing 4-0.

This was followed by a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of defending champions Chelsea, before home fans at the DW Stadium, last Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur newsnow While David Bentley, with an ankle injury, and Jamie O'Hara, with a back problem, will remain out of action on Saturday, there's some good news for Spurs who could see Jermaine Defoe and Luka Modric get back to match fitness after being kept out by hamstring problems.

Spurs signed Middlesbrough's Jonathan Woodgate in 2008, but the defender has been largely absent owing to a groin injury, and Woodgate will soon undergo newsnow Tottenham surgery to try and set it right.

Wigan will miss the services of Gary caldwell, with a thigh injury, and his brother Steven, a recent signing, could replace him.

The Latics wil seek to regain lost form on Saturday but are spurs transfer rumours likely to be haunted by their unhappy memories of their November visit to White Hart Lane.

In that match, Spurs recorded their biggest win (9-1) in three decades, with England striker Defoe accounting for five goals. Kranjcar, Lennon, Bentley and Crouch joined the party, as the solitary goal by Wigan's Paul Scharner wasn't enough, to dampen their spirits.
