These performance risks also have the capability to limit the general career possibilities of the person. These career 'derailers', as they are named, are in effect ingrained personality traits which affect upon the individual's behaviour and how they act. Because of this it is a beneficial evaluation amongst senior managers whose behaviour are vital to the business. It also provides comprehensive information about interpersonal problems that are not always clearly identifiable in interviews. The Hogan Development Survey can help an individual recognise the important factors that discern personalities and decide occupational success. Some people refer to the HDS as revealing the 'Dark Side' of a person's behaviour. By this they mean the test showing what we see when a person is in a position whereby they are under stress.
