A washing machine needs special care. With these tips by Laundry service, you will have something of your machine for longer.

Descale the washing machine:

In most households, the washing machine runs every day: no wonder, since it makes our everyday life so much easier. But problems with the washing machine often occur. We explain what you can do and how to properly care for your washing machine.

The laundry does not get really clean:

If the laundry does not get really clean despite the washing cycle in the washing machine, an overfilled laundry drum can be the problem. The laundry must be able to move in the drum.

However, if we make the drum too full, even the best detergent will no longer work. Therefore always leave some distance between the laundry and the drum cover.

Sounds strange, but can also be to blame: Too much detergent. If the relationship between detergent and water is not correct, too much foam is created. Detergent residues may remain on clothing.

The laundry smells unpleasant:

Remnants can collect in the detergent drawer, which then leads to mold. It is therefore important to always remove the remains thoroughly. Wash out the detergent drawer for this.

Mold can also form in the washing machine drum if the air cannot circulate. Therefore, open the washing machine door after the wash cycle and leave it open. This allows the drum to dry faster.

Tip by Laundry service: Your washing machine will last longer if you wipe the drum and the porthole with a cloth after each wash and thus remove the moisture directly. In addition, hairs or the like cannot accumulate in this way. In addition, you should regularly wipe the inner glass and the rubber coatings with vinegar cleaner.

Germs that collect in the drum can be killed by washing them at 90 degrees. It is best to use universal washing powder and just let the machine run without laundry.

If the washing machine has not been used for several weeks, for example, while on vacation, the first wash cycle should be a 60-degree cycle with full detergent.

The process no longer wants to flow:

It is also important that you regularly clean your washing machine's fluff filter. If it gets blocked, the washing machine will eventually be unable to drain properly. Check the operating instructions for your washing machine to find out where the fluff filter is located.

If the pumping suddenly stops working, a blocked drain hose can also be to blame. Important: Before you take off or inspect anything, switch off the water supply. Also prepare a bucket for yourself, because there is a residual liquid in the hose that must drain off.
