Cheap Netbooks For Your Basic Computing Needs

With all the recent hype surrounding tablet computers such as the iPad 2, much of the news concerning technology has been related to that topic. Many manufacturers of tablet computers market them as being replacements for desktop and laptop computers, with a much smaller form factor that provides greater portability and convenience. The truth, however, is that tablet computers are often unsuited to any but the most casual of computing tasks. If you are looking for a computing device that is portable yet functional and affordable, then you are most definitely better off looking at cheap netbooks. Couple with an external 1TB hard drive, cheap netbooks have the potential of being affordable substitutes for a desktop computer or even a full-sized laptop. Moreover, a 1TB hard drive will provide even more memory space than most full-sized laptops provide.

The term “netbook” is a relatively recent phenomenon, and was only coined in 2007, when the first model was put on the market. Since then, they have become ubiquitous, with many people choosing cheap netbooks over more expensive full-sized notebook computers. Netbooks are essentially small notebook computers. Typically, the maximum screen size for it to be considered a netbook is 12 inches measured diagonally, and a maximum weight of 1kg.

The main reason that the term was coined is that the first models were made without very much memory for storage of digital files. Users were supposed to mainly make use of the internet for work and media purposes, thus resulting in the term “netbook” being coined. Even today, cheap netbooks still have relatively limited onboard memory, thus an external 1TB hard drive would add a great deal of functionality.

Netbooks are manufactured with a particular set of computers users in mind – cheap netbooks in particular. Notebook computers are so much more expensive than cheap netbooks because they are made to handle intensive computing tasks. Tasks such as watching high resolution video, editing photographs and playing computer games are all intensive tasks that require more complex hardware to carry out properly.

Cheap netbooks are not made to include such hardware, and instead are suited to people who only need their computer for work purposes, to accomplish tasks such as editing documents, creating spreadsheets and browsing the internet. These tasks are not considered intensive tasks, and do not require powerful computing components.

A large proportion of the users of cheap netbooks are students, who simply need a computer to take down notes in class and to access their email while on the go. Office workers account for another large proportion of users of cheap netbooks, using them as backup computers for when they have to travel across town for meetings and on business trips.

Many people also choose to use cheap netbooks as their main computer, as they do not require their computers to perform any tasks that would be outside of a netbook’s capabilities. Typically the only problem that such users face is the lack of sufficient onboard memory. Even the most casual computer users need sufficient memory to store photographs, movies, and other digital files. In such cases, an external 1TB hard drive is the perfect, providing a method of storage that can be kept at home where it can be accessed when needed, leaving the netbook portable and convenient to carry around when out and about.

With one of the cheap netbooks and a 1TB hard drive from Oyyy, you will be ready to handle all of your basic computing tasks while enjoying greater computing convenience and portability!
