At this digital age, it is becoming harder every day to prevent the acts of terrorism or notoriety. The perpetrators or terrorists are using advance technologies to cause more devastation or to successfully complete a task. In this scenario, the CCTV-cameras have become extremely helpful in determining the physical appearance or activities of any perpetrator.

The importance of Close-Circuit television cameras has increased after different types of terrorist activities over the last decade in different cities of United Kingdom. There are around 2.5 million CCTV-cameras in different cities of United Kingdom and London uses these cameras in highest number. The London Underground alone has more than 11000 cameras.

Operating these cameras may seem like an easy task; however, the reality is far from this misconception. It requires adequate knowledge of the system in order to operate these cameras successfully. Hence, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) of UK needs every individual, who is willing to operate these cameras, to receive adequate training before being recruited as an operator.

The main objective of SIA is to raise the standard of service in private-security sector. This independent body reports to the Home Secretary according to the terms of Private Security Industry Act 2001. This authority has made it mandatory for the operatives of Close Circuit Television cameras or the individuals aspiring to operate these cameras to undergo a training program.

This type of training is available through various accredited training centres. It is also important to note that the CCTV course in Londondoes not just train an applicant to properly operate the system. This qualification may help you progress in your career in the private-security industry. For example, it is essential for the managers or supervisors to have this license alongside having the door-supervision license. Therefore, completing this training is mandatory if you want to achieve higher designations within the private-security sector. You need to complete the following steps in order to get the license to operate the CCTV-cameras.

1) Attending a training course designed for this license.

2) Getting certified after passing the course.

3) Completing the SIA application process on the official website of Security Industry Authority.

This course is divided in three units in order to help the participants understand his/her role within the private-security industry or to help them learn how to operate the CCTV-cameras.

A) The first unit helps you understand the working within the Private Security Industry.

B) The second unit can help you understand how a CCTV operator works.

C) The third unit can help you learn the practical use of CCTV systems.

The participants of this training program are supposed to qualify in two exams in order to become eligible for the license to operate Close-Circuit Television cameras. The door supervision course is another important training program if you want to become a part of the private-security sector of UK or if you want to progress in your career as private-security officer.
